
On January 16, S12 Chair Paul Evans hosted an engaging and informative webinar bringing together representatives from policing, private security, regulation, major employers, and training providers.
The session focused on the future of the Integrated Policing and Private Security (IPPS) programme and the significant work underway to modernise and relaunch the Community Safety Accreditation Scheme (CSAS) and Railway Safety Accreditation Scheme (RSAS).

Together, they outlined the current review of CSAS/RSAS, the strategic aims of IPPS, and opportunities for industry engagement as the new national standard is finalised ahead of the planned relaunch.
Why this matters
Demand on policing continues to grow, while the private security industry has expanded to over 470,000 licensed officers, representing a key national asset. CSAS and RSAS offer a structured way for trained and vetted private security personnel to support policing priorities, reduce demand, and enhance public safety.
